How we make money.
§ I · The plain statement
We earn commissions. You do not pay more.
PrePicked participates in affiliate programs run by major grocery retailers. When you click through our extension and complete a purchase at a retailer's website, we may receive a commission paid by the retailer. You do not pay anything extra. The price you see is the price you pay.
"You never pay a premium for using PrePicked. The cost of our service is paid by the retailer."
§ II · Networks we participate in
Or are actively applying to.
- ImpactWalmart, Target, InstacartActive
- FlexOffersKrogerActive
- RakutenSam's ClubActive
- AssociatesAmazon / Whole FoodsActive
Each network sets cookies on your browser when you click a retailer link from us. Those cookies identify PrePicked as the source of the visit so that the retailer can attribute the purchase. See § V for details.
§ III · How it works, step by step
Click. Cookie. Checkout. Commission.
- Click. You tap a cart in the PrePicked extension.
- Redirect. The extension opens your chosen retailer's real website, with your real account, and adds the items.
- Cookie. The retailer's affiliate network sets a small cookie that tags the visit as coming from PrePicked.
- Checkout. You review the cart and check out normally on the retailer's site. You pay the retailer directly. We never touch your payment.
- Commission. If you check out within the retailer's cookie window, they pay us a small percentage of the order.
§ IV · Editorial independence
We pick stores for users, not commission rates.
Our decisions about which retailers to support, which themes to feature, and which items to recommend are made based on what serves our users — availability, price, selection, and reliability. They are not made based on which retailer pays the highest commission.
If a retailer offers us a better rate to push their store, we will not take it at the expense of a better shopping experience. If we ever need to favor one retailer for legitimate reasons (launch partner, exclusive integration), we will say so clearly.
§ V · How affiliate cookies work
In plain English.
A cookie is a small file a website puts in your browser. An affiliate cookie records which partner site (us) referred you to the retailer. It typically lasts anywhere from one day to thirty days, depending on the retailer's policy.
If you check out at that retailer within the cookie window — even directly, not through us — the retailer may still credit us. Most affiliate programs work this way. If you do not want this, you can clear cookies or shop in a private window; it changes nothing about the price you pay.
